This Employer Reference Guide (ERG) provides general administrative information about Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia and Blue Cross Blue Shield Healthcare Plan of Georgia’s standard health care plans. It is intended for use by Group Administrators, who are persons designated by employers to handle routine administrative matters associated with the employer’s group health insurance policy or group health plan. When we say “you” we mean the Group Administrator.
The Guide contains information you may want to have handy in the day-to-day administration of your group’s plan(s). It is not intended as legal or benefit plan consulting advice, and you should not base important determinations about your group’s legal obligations on the information contained in it. It is only provided as a convenient reference source for information about routine administrative matters.
The Guide does not address the specific provisions of particular group policies or plans; it only explains administrative procedures shared by most employer group policies and plans. For specific information about the provisions of your particular policy or plan, refer to your Certificate Booklet or Summary Plan Description for self-funded accounts. As always, your account management team or agent/broker are available to answer any questions about the information in this Guide or about your group’s particular policy or plan.
