Hopscotch, Double Dutch, Hula Hoops & Shelf Ball—Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia Brings Back Recess at the Grant Park Summer Shade Festival This Weekend
ATLANTA —August 21, 2012—The Grant Park Summer Shade Festival (Aug. 25–26) provides the perfect playground for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia (BCBSGa) to re-introduce classic childhood recess games like four square, Hula-Hoop® and double Dutch jump roping to encourage attendees to Bring Back Recess. BCBSGa’s goal is to remind people that taking a break isn't a luxury, but a necessity to help renew energy as well as be a source of fun.
BCBSGa's Bring Back Recess movement is designed to remind and empower everyone – at work, and at home and at school – to take a short break for fun, physical exercise. The benefits are numerous, and cover the physical, mental and emotional spectrum. With rising childhood obesity rates and modern-day multitasking that drains our energy, it’s never been more important to simply take a break and rejuvenate through play. Bring Back Recess makes this easy with the games you used to play when you were a kid.
At the Bring Back Recess event located at the Grant Park Summer Shade Festival this weekend,  visitors can take advantage of fun, hands-on activities for the family including four square, shelf ball, Hula-Hoop® and jump roping competitions and waste/laundry basketball.

The Grant Park Summer Shade Festival attracts folks from all over Atlanta and is celebrating its 10th year. As an added bonus, BCBSGa will donate $1 to a local Boys and Girls Club for every attendee who participates in Bring Back Recess, up to $2,000 – so get outside, get active and make a difference!
