Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia Encourages Georgians to "Turn their Working Lunch into a Walking Lunch" at 3rd Annual Walk@Lunch Day Event

BCBSGA associates will take a lunch-break walk rain or shine!

April 27, 2009 - ATLANTA / COLUMBUS - Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia (BCBSGA) will host Walk@Lunch Day, a national workplace program to encourage employees to take a walk at lunch, on Wednesday, April 29. Throughout the day, hundreds of Georgia associates and employees from other downtown businesses will participate in a mass group walk from their various office locations.

"BCBSGA's participation in the program is part of our commitment to helping our members and associates lead healthier lives," said Monye Connolly, President. "Statistics show that two out of three Americans don't get enough exercise, yet physical activity is a crucial part of creating and maintaining health. We hope our walk will inspire folks to put on their sneakers and take a walk at lunch."

WHAT: National Walk@Lunch Day BCBSGA Associate Walk
WHEN: Wednesday, April 29, 11:00 a.m., 11:30 a.m., Noon, 12:30 p.m.
WHERE: Atlanta: BCBSGA Offices, Capital City Plaza, 3350 Peachtree Road NE, 30326. Associates will assemble in upper parking deck off the back of the building.

Columbus: BCBSGA Offices, 2357 Warm Springs Road, 31904. Associates will assemble at the front of the building.
WHO: Monye Connolly, BCBSGA President and Amy Cheslock, BCBSGA VP Provider Services will lead the Atlanta associate walk at Noon.
