Our Lumenos plans focus on long-term solutions to health care. They do more than pay for care when a member is sick. They help give members more control over their health care dollars - and offer incentives to make healthy lifestyle changes. More information, tools and incentives can help members make better health care decisions.
Depending on their plan, Lumenos members may earn financial rewards for:
 | completing an online health risk assessment |
| completing a smoking cessation program |
| enrolling in a health coach program |
| making other healthy lifestyle choices |
Four types of Lumenos plan funding options:
| Health Reimbursement Account (HRA): employer-funded account |
| Health Savings Account (HSA): can be funded by both the employer and the consumer with tax advantages |
| Health Incentive Account (HIA): consumers earn dollars for the account as a reward for healthy behaviors |
| Health Incentive Account Plus: works just like the HRA, but the account is funded by us, not the employer or member |
Important notes about our existing consumer-driven health plans
| Customers currently enrolled in one of our consumer-driven plans can continue with their plan design as long as they maintain their current benefit plan. If they want to make changes, they'll need to transition to one of our Lumenos plans beginning with October 1, 2008 effective dates. Don't worry; your sales and account management team will work to ensure a seamless transition. |
| Our existing consumer-driven plans will no longer be offered beginning with October 1, 2008 effective dates. For further details, talk to your Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia account representative. |
