Blue Precision is a program that recognizes certain high-performing specialists and makes this information available and transparent to our members. Under this program, physicians who practice in select specialties are reviewed for quality and cost performance. Eligible physicians can receive a quality designation based on their performance against nationally endorsed measures and/or national quality recognition programs. If eligible physicians receive a quality designation they may also receive a cost performance designation which reflects whether individual physician costs in treating episodes of care are lower than expected based on risk adjusted specialty averages. Blue Precision provides information about cost effectiveness and quality so our members can be well informed when making decisions related to their health.
