Mark Kishel, M.D., FAAP, Named Medical Director for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia
ATLANTA – August 31, 2011 – Mark Kishel, M.D., FAAP, has been named Medical Director for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia (BCBSGa), effective today. Dr. Kishel served as BCBSGa’s Medical Director from 1993 to 2001. He will be responsible for leading, developing, directing and implementing clinical and non-clinical activities that impact health care quality cost and outcomes.
Prior to joining BCBSGA, Dr. Kishel worked in the public health sector, and held executive leadership roles with hospitals, healthcare companies, medical groups and insurance carriers, including Coventry Health Care of Georgia.
